Hellllloooooo Everybody,

Welcome back for the final newsletter of the 2022 season. We’ve reached “Finals Week(s)” after a long, hard, beefy season. While there hasn't been much to play for if your name is Luke, Cam, Seth, or Alex, there has at least been some great football to watch. Bills/Dolphins in the snow (chefs kiss), Vikings' biggest comeback of all time (annoying but cool I guess), whatever the hell Jakobi Meyers was doing, and the Refs vs. Commanders game to end the day. The semifinals were somewhat eventful for those of us in the winner’s bracket, but Andrew and I ended up comfortably winning, in the end, to set up the decisive championship matchup. The loser's bracket was MUCH more eventful with Seth vs Alex AND Luke vs Cam both being decided by less than 2 points. It’s sad that such close matchups were for naught. And then of course Allen beating Matt, which is its own category of toughhhhh. Any given week I guess.

We are quickly approaching the end of the 2nd season of Bois Fantasy Football, and there is a lot to look back at. We had a successful season with active participation from everyone (except Allen at the end, booooooo), and the football knowledge of this group has improved by leaps and bounds. We had newsletters written by 5 different authors, along with memes generated by nearly everyone. Cam and Matt S. were great additions to the newsletter/meme gang and provided funnier/better-written content than I ever could, their contributions are much appreciated. It has been a good season, and I know that next year will be even better. Thank you all for playing and enjoy some holiday football followed by the NFL PLAYOFFS.

There is going to be a little bit of a shakeup as Allen has expressed his intentions of leaving the league as he starts school again, but we will deal with all of that in the offseason.

Matchup(s) that Matter

Championship

3. Ozark’s Revenge(9–4) vs 1. Le Petite Prince (10–3)

Ahhh, yes the inevitable matchup we’ve been waiting for since Week 1 of 2021, Keegan vs Andrew. Really it’s Keegan vs the League and let me just say this about my team “no one like us, WE DO NOT CARE -Jason Kelce (2017)”. When this season started I viewed Andrew and Cam as the only teams worth worrying about. (Side note: I was both totally wrong and totally right about Cam). Andrew however, did me a solid and traded away his best asset and lost Cooper Kupp to the IR giving me an easy path to not only an unprecedented 10-game winning streak, but also a trip to the championship. And to be honest, I am kind of fortunate. My WR1 strategy worked to a degree (not nearly as much as I would have hoped), but really we all know my Big 3 do the HEAVY lifting, however, the WR1 strategy does rely on some big production from the QB and TE position. So, now we are down to what matters. The Championship. Despite Andrew’s misfortune I am quite nervous and think this could really go any way. He may not have a QB, but I don’t have a real WR2 or Flex. This is really going to be Mahomes/Kelce/Ekeler vs. King Henry/Saquon/Ceedee and that could for sure go either way. Andrew is playing with house money, and honestly, finishing 2nd after winning the league last year would be an incredible accomplishment. I, on the other hand, have everything to play for, I have talked so much noise this season (with little engagement from the chat I must add :/ ), and have the whole league praying on my downfall. It should be a fun matchup and may the best man win.

3rd Place

2. Sauce Boss (7–6) vs 4. Tennis Ministry (8–5)

In one sense, the only thing at stake here is 15$, on the other hand, it allows for one of these fellas to end the season on a high note after things did not go their way in the first round of the playoffs. Matt was the scoring champion this year (beating me out by a few points), but just like last year, the scoring champion is on the recipient of some tough luck. But hey, at least he made the playoffs. Joe on the other hand was fortunate that his luck took him as far as it did. The no-RB strategy got flexed on once the playoffs started paired with an untimely ACL tear from little Kyler Murray. His team is in tough straits and I can’t imagine he is able to rally the troops to beat Matt. But remember, no complaining Joe, or Cam is gonna be on your ass.

Last Place

7. Battle of the Betas (6–7) vs 9. Bye Week (4–9)

In the biggest upset of the whole season maybe, or the most embarrassing loss, depending on how you want to look at it, Allen is not going to finish last. He started 2 guys both weeks who were hurt/on IR (played Matt 7 v 9 basically), and still beat him by 20. I’d be in shambles if I was Matt. And to top it off, he has almost no chance of beating Alex, the previous darling boy of our league, who lost a TIGHT matchup with Seth to be forced once again to battle to not be the worst in the league. But for what it’s worth, Alex had a much better season than this last-place matchup portrays. I am eager to see who is going to dinner with us looking something like this

And with that, everyone have a good week AND a Merry Christmas, and may the fantasy football odds ever be in your favor.
