LOL

Hello everybodyyyy,

I’m backkkkkk. Cam and I switched places in the rotation, so here I am again to talk some ball. We are now 18% of the way into the season and just like it is obvious that the Eagles and Dolphins are for real, it is also obvious that Matt and I are the forces to be reckoned with. On the other end of the spectrum, we have teams like the Broncos and the Bears that are ASS. The NFL’s Lukes one might say. In total, the NFL has been really interesting this year with a variety of fun offensive and defensive schemes being run. It’s all about tactics and strategy it seems, just as you all are learning on our very own waiver wire. We are still in the dawn of this 17-week season, so hope should not yet be lost for anyone, even if you are 0–3. (Luke and Allen)

I think that this week I’m really going to lean away from my hater energy (or disrespect as Matt might say) and tell you all why your team is maybe possibly better than you think. So, let us be positive this week before the clowning comes back in full force.

1. Le Petite Prince

We can start off with an easy one. My team is STACKED with quality wide receivers and we just welcomed Calvin Ridley to the squad. Choosing 3 receivers out of him, Deebo, Mike Evans, Nico Collins, Hollywood Brown, soon-to-be WR1 DJ Chark, and now (sooner than expected)Jameson Williams is going to be a tough choice every week, but luckily for the rest of y’all, God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers. Also, I have Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes so there's that.

Fun Fact: I have only lost one fantasy football matchup in the last 365 days. I know yall must hate that.

2. 40k Magic

Enter challenger number 2. Matt doesn't need me to find some dumb reason to say why his team is good. He has Tyreek Hill. That's all you need when Mike McDaniels is scheming up some of the best offensive sets we've seen in the NFL. He also has Alvin Kamara returning this week to a decimated Saints backfield. However, I think the most pleasant surprise has been Michael Pittman, who has been a solid WR to help support Tyreek and Brandon Ayiuk. Matt’s team actually worries me.

3. You Just Got Cammed

With Bijan and Justin Jefferson, Cam arguably has the 2 most electric players at their positions. Bijan’s floor is probably 10–12 points per week while his ceiling is sky-high. Sam Laporta is looking like one of the few fantasy TEs to be able to hang with Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews, and he also has Tony Pollard. Even in his seemingly worst position, QB he has 2 guys in Jarred Goff and Jordan Love who are outperforming the likes of Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen. To comment on my take a few weeks ago, Cam has the roster to establish himself among our league’s elites.

4. Sphace

Seth is riding strong with Mike McDaniels and the seemingly elite Dolphins offense. Even if they do regress a bit (which they most certainly will, Tua isn't THAT guy), Seth can lean on a now-clear number one Keenan Allen and a plethora of solid running backs. One of whom is now the number-one option behind the league's best offensive line. Yes, I am referring to Deandre Swift. It only took the Eagles' original RB1 one rib injury to lose his spot. Since Seth is a die-hard fan I’m sure he knew what was up in the Eagles backfield. Also, the Jets are one non Zach Wilson or Trevor Siemian QB away from making Garret Wilson elite again.

5. Ozark’s Revenge

As much as I have enjoyed the “Andrew’s team is really bad” narrative, I will not be joining in (this week). Instead, I will point out that he does in fact have Ceedee Lamd, Stefon Diggs, and Evan Engram. Combine that with Tee Higgins, who could not possibly play worse than he has these past 3 weeks, and it is easy to see how his non-RB positions could continue to carry him to wins. If he could steal some depth on the waiver wire / free agents list, he should be fine.

6. Sauce Boss

Cooper Kupp should be coming back soon enough to take a decent chunk of Puka’s absurd target share. Combine that with Chris Olave and Amon Ra St. Brown and Joe might have the best starting receiver group in the league. And of course, we know Joe is gonna be grinding the ESPN Fantasy articles, the Pat Macafee Podcast, and Twitter (X) gurus from his web browser, in order to put himself in the best position to succeed.

7. Devonta and the Geriatrics

This is one of my favorite team names I’ve seen yet from Alex, so he is getting creativity points. Roster wise he has Josh Allen and Devante Adams which should provide a solid base. He really just needs one of Derrick Henry or Najee Harris to stop being bad, and he should have a pretty decent chance of being competitive most weeks. He also has the pleasure of starting the Eagles defense, which should be a good shout most weeks.

8. Bye Week

I was pretty certain that Matt might not win a game this year, but here we are. AJ Brown was able to whine his way into more targets and I’m thinking that might become the new norm as the Eagles make sure AJ “gets his”. Matt’s abundance of DECENT running backs has so far produced one guy who is producing (Kenneth Walker), so that is something. He also has a stretch of game coming up against Luke, Allen, and Andrew where he might be able to grab a W or 2. And of course, he is always sitting at the top of the waiver wire to get his guy (his guy is not Jerome Ford or Devon Achane).

9. Al’s Chicken

Let’s start with our positive from 5 weeks ago. Allen had a consensus top 3 draft in our league. However, it’s just not panning out for him. But hope should not be lost (yet). Anthony Richardson should be back soon and it looks like Jamarr Chase and Cortland Sutton are breaking out of their early weeks slumps. And of course, we would be remiss to forget about one Dameon Pierce, who seems to also be getting better. Also, Saquon will be back. If Allen can get a W this week he could be someone worth monitoring as our season progresses.

10. Panda Express

Happy to welcome back our friend’s brother to the bottom of the league. After 2 weeks of texting EVERY SINGLE MEMBER of our league to trade Derrick Henry, he found a buyer and his team should be better off for it. (Also, what are the odds Luke has Alex’s number saved in his phone?? I know Luke was receiving texts from (630) 877–1725). But anyway back to being positive. He has CMC and the second-best TE in the league behind Kelce, so maybe that will be enough for him to scrape together a win or 2. At least he has been hella active.

BENCH BLUES:

The best performers from each week that had the privilege to rack up their points while on someone’s bench.

1. ALLEN — Mike Williams: 25.1 points | Who played instead: Calvin Ridley: 7.0 points

If Allen had traded me Calvin Ridley one week earlier he would have handed me my first L of the season. Also, RIP to Allen’s players season-ending injuries.

2. Joe— Tank Dell: 25.5 points | Who played instead: Gus Edwards: 5.1 points

Joe was talking all that noise about Tank Dell only to let him sit on the bench for an RB to play in the flex

Matchup of the Week

Al’s Chicken (0–3) vs. Sphace (2–1)

Our favorite Calvinists battle it out to determine who was pre-destined to win this week's matchup. These 2 might as well not even worry about setting their lineups since the result has been set in stone for eternity. I think that God wanted to give Allen just enough to make him ponder his life choices, but hopefully not enough for him to think about maybe moving back to Lynchburg, so I see him pulling through this week, ending the winless start of his season just like it was determined. Matt (theologically) wishes that both of them could lose, but since this is not heaven or hell, he is going with Seth. Cam is also trusting fate (faith) and is taking Seth.
